ASA States coming to Rochester in July
6/27/2014

ASA is offering D and E Men's State Tournies July 25-27, returning to the Seacoast for the first time in four years.  All teams in the Dover/Rochester league are eligible to enter.

ASA is aiming to run an E State Tournament for the first time.  This is designed primarily for league teams who don't play tournies regularly (similar to USSSA's Rec Plus).    The D State tournament tends to attract the State's best teams.  Roster rules for ASA differ from USSSA.  ASA keeps player rankings based on previous state and national tournaments.  An E team may have no more than 3 D classified players and no player classified D+ or above.  Similar to USSSA, they may also rank a team based on overall team strength.  In general, League "A" teams would play in D States and League "B" teams would be eligible for the E unless the previous discussed roster restrictions come into play.

For information on entering, please contact Jeremy Pucko of Dover Brickhouse/Shocktop.  He will work with the ASA director to tentatively help teams determine which level they should play at based on their roster.  Officially signed rosters and $250 entry fees are due to ASA prior to or at the draw on Wednesday July 16th but we suggest any class recommendations be requested a few weeks in advance of that date.
